DSHobro 0.4 released!

Super application! Je l'ai suivi depuis son début. Puis soudain, des mois et des mois sans MàJ :'( Enfin, j'adore cet Homebrew, et j'espère que tu continueras à l'améliorer. Sinon, chez moi, seul problème, c'est horriblement lent :( (la 0.3) Je testerais la v0.4 dés que je retrouve ma DS

I get an error when trying to connect through internet (B) where it says 'connection closed by host'. I have forwarded my port and disabled firewall on router and my pc for this port...

I can connect fine when it is through option A

Any ideas??  Otherwise great browser!!!

Hey ive heard great things about this homebrew and I have some questions ...does it work with a Nintendo Usb Connector if it doesnt can you make a new version that does work with a usb connector, and does it work with a cyclods?! thnx

Amazing - this is actually working ! I had some startup issues but by setting up Wifi (first time) via the game 'Mario Kart' did solve this. Great, compliments for the creative mind ! Regards Marco

J'espere que vous continuez a ameliorer cet app - c'est tres bon et il a beacoup de potential (je ne sais pas le bon mot francais).

Hi! It would be great if you could get someone to port the server.exe app to Mac. I've tried to connect the browser to my Airport IP adress, but it doesn't work.

i have a protected server which has a password.......... and i don't know how to connect.......

When starting server.exe on the PC, i get the following error: "The Zero-Configuration Server appears to be down" What can i do to fix this?

Nah, I get the Zero Config error on XP pro too, would be nice if there's a fix for it... ;)

I keep getting the zero config error on xp home 2002 sp2. Not sure what the 2002 means, but it might help.

I get the zero configuration thing too!! this stink, its been happening for like 3 weeks now :( in the meanwhile i am using win2ds which is basicly the same thing...hope dshobro works soon!

I don't normally do this and would have emailed it but couldn't find your email... Would you be willing to update all of us with more information regarding its status and the dreaded zero-configuration error?

I wanted to take a moment to let you know how great of a tool this is! :) I do understand that it is not complete and, like MANY others, I too am getting the zero-configuration error but I must admit that the concept and progress you have made so far is EXCELLENT.

Having the pages be rendered on the computer and then served to the DS... I absolutely love it and was going crazy last night when I discovered it. Keep up the great work and PLEASE, please keep us updated with its status and please provide us with more information on its setup and usage.

Success! (sort of) I was able to get the DS to connect to the server. here is how:
1. Manually input the server IP (Press X at home screen)
2. start the server on your computer and click start.
3. DO NOT close the Zero-Configuration error.

The DS will connect but you will not be able to minimize the server.

This is all very clever, but one question.

Whats the point in me viewing the net on my DS if I have to have a PC with the server on it running as well? I could just stand up, sit on the chair and use a PC, granted I cant take it to the bog with me, but I can watch Youtube vids @ work either.

Is there a web browser that 1) doesnt need a pc with the net (just a Wifi connection) 2) do any of them support video yet?

I'm gussing no on the second one, but it wont b long!

i have tryed manual config, but it did not work. i have read on gbatemp that costello is trying to fix the server and it would take some time.

The "leave the error message box open" trick works for me, thanks for the tip.  Only works on v0.4, not v0.3 since you can't manually input the IP.

@Jon, the advantage is that you can browse a page the way it was meant to be browsed on the PC without spending 5 minutes actually rendering it on the DS.  It moves the task of processing the page from the weak DS to the more powerful PC.  Yes it seems rather pointless in some regard, but remember that you can set it up so you can connect to your home computer running the server from any wireless access point anywhere as long as you have your router setup correctly.

There are other browsers for the DS, including Bunjalloo, DSOrganize, and the two web browsers in DSLinux (requires slot-2 RAM).  However, none of them support audio or video, and only some of them support images partially. 

If you have the zero error and on windows, to hide the screen just use Windows-Key + desktop which will force all windows to minimize to the trray. If you don't click the DSHobro icon in the taskbar, it will remain "hidden"

I too, was having problems connecting, and after working several things out, got it working.
Ok, here are a few things i figured out. I'm not going to go into too much detail, because if you don't know how to do these things, then what are you doing here anyways?lol

-your pc needs to be wifi ready (either with an internal wifi card or hooked up to a wireless router)

-I went into my Network Connections and enabled my connection to be "Shared" (dunno if this is necessary)

-the IP adress given to me by the whatismyip.com website wasn't working for me, I used the one given to me by typing in "IPCONFIG" in my command.exe

-I also ran Mario Kart DS and enabled WIFI and set up (automatically) the WIFI settings for my wireless router that I would be connecting through to get to my PC

-I kept getting the Zero Config" error, but used the ignore workaround by just leaving the error message open

Can you get sound too stream to the ds, because I know a site where they're only plays music and i want to her it on my ds and such... Plzzz can you fix it?

I've got a DSTT, the 'Zero configuration' error came up on the server.exe.
i tried leavin it open and doin the manual input but it just stays on "**Initialising Wifi" and nothing happens.

I used the ip address from Run/Cmd/IPCONFIG

I've also tried all the other versions but same thing happens(doesnt come off Initialising Wifi).

Question, how come I can connect to wifi on Mario kart and Metroid DS but when I use this homebrew app, no matter what version, it never works. It always says ::ERROR:: Wifi connection failed. Please restart your DS and try again. Press A to reconnect. Dude this will just suck until you get it to work like Mario kart where it just finds an access point to connect to wifi. Then I will be impressed. Otherwise I don't belive it works.

Testé en v0.4 sur DSTT.

Fonctionne bien.

Consultation d'un serveur Web Local : Ok.

Rappel : Le Principe : La partie windows "serveur" émet l'image de la page consulté et c'est depuis cette image que ce fait la navigation via les boutons R/L pour permuter l'image sur l'écran tactile. Donc pas un vrai interpréteur HTML dans la DS , mais sur le PC.

 

Très bonne applis pour une simple navigation consultation. Je ne crois pas que l'on puisse télécharger avec des fichiers depuis le WEB.

Mérite d'être dans la liste des Homebrew de l'applis DSOrganize.

'cause maybe my french is quite unintelligible, i'll ask you the same thing in english. i've downloaded the programme (fourth version) on my vista. when i started the programme i got the message: The Zero-Configuration .... etc.

is there a way to solve this and use your programme although the only computers i've got are vistas? and within this year i'll buy another one with windows 7. will it work with windows 7??

and i've got another quetion i haven't asked yet in french: if i use DSHobro, and someone else wants to use my computer, can that be done at the same time?
