Update...
People keep emailing me so I think I need to post an update!First, let me tell you that the past few days have been very busy for me. It's the end of year here and I've had to terminate many different projects for uni. This is the reason why I haven't been able to keep up with the delays I announced. This project is not dead, we're not pulling "another gnirfleo" and I'm sure you know it.
Another problem I wanted to raise. Lately, I've been working on the download speeds. On LAN (at home only, when data doesn't travel on the internet), the download speeds from PC to DS are correct, fast enough for the application. However, using WAN (internet) the speeds are quite terrible. I get something like 8 kilobytes/s. I've written several different protocols and algorithms, with acknowledgements or not (acknowledging every data block, acknowledging 1 data block only, etc...) and I still get the same crappy speed. I've contacted the author of DSFTP, but he didn't reply to my email.
So, I'm facing a choice here: I'm either going to wait until I solve the speed issues, or release a v0.2 that will only be efficient for local usage.
If you have any lead on how to solve the speed issues, please post a comment.
Thanks!
PS: I apologize for the delays, and for not being able to keep up with the delays I originally announced. I hope to make that up with an interesting v0.2 release.

Anyway though great job!
Thank you for the update costello, I think will be great if you release the actual build of your homebrew browser (DS HOBRO) because we can test and can help you by reporting all the bugs that we can found :).
Thanks for the update also :)
Thanks for the update, man. ^_^ Just take your time!
I don't know if it can help you (/me bah noob :P) but maybe you can try to use libDSFTP....?
tomleboubou: if I use libDSFTP it means I need to transfer files via FTP... but I need to do more than just file transfer! there are some custom commands that I need to send...
Are you gonna release it today?!?!?! But as long as you release it, I'm jiggy with that.
Hi, seems like I'll release the local version yeah. I'm working on it today.
Please release it!
Yep. This is another Gnirfleo. Just alittle more elaborated. He throws together a quick vnc source edit so we think he acctualy plans to continue working on the project, and again, we fall for it because a good web browser is the most wanted homebrew for ds.
The NDS scene loses again.
(meant to include this in the previous post)
Look at QuakeDS, it took him a long time to get around system limitations, but he still made it work, and it is one of the best homebrew applications for NDS yet. When (if, hopefully when) costello releases v.2, I'm sure it will be the best homebrew browser for NDS and the quickest. you want to talk about how much the homebrew scene sucks, you're not welcome here. Go to some other site and furiously type about how gay I am even though you've never met me in person. Better yet, go complain why there isn't WoW on NDS because you think you are better than the people who put time and effort into their work just to be critisized by people who don't think making a workable browser on a system with 4 MEGABYTES of RAM is harder than expected. There, I'm done now, but I gotta say it was fun typing tonight. Keep it up, I like to prove why idiots like you are keeping the hb scene from getting to where it could be.
People need to realise that most homebrew developers have lives, jobs and hobbies. They are in NO WAY obliged to make a release.
Furthermore, they owe the userbase NOTHING, because the userbase is not paying them anything and is largely extremely selfish.
Seriously, if 'pissed' had made his comments about an opensource project, rather than a little homebrew app, he'd have been absolutely crucified by now.
Either buy a PSP or get the Opera browser. Can't afford either? Tough luck then. You deserve to get screwed.
