Two beta testers

Two persons have tried the first alpha version of DSHobro. Thank you smealum and GeekShadow! It worked pretty well, even though the transfers weren't optimized.

The current state is: you can use the virtual keyboard to visit a website by typing the URL; but once the image is displayed you can't click anywhere. So I'll implement the click and then I'll publish a downloadable version.

Browser's title: DSHobro

The title of my DS homebrew browser is:
DSHoBro, which stands for DS Homebrew Browser.

Great news

*THIS NEWS WAS CHECKED BY THE ANTI APRIL-FOOL FILTER. 0 APRIL FOOLS FOUND. I hate April fools*

So I'll be working with Mollusk (if you don't know him, wtf are you doing here? ) and we're about to start a huge project. It definitely involves a web browser, and it's still for the Nintendo DS.
I can tell you right now: if we can make all our ideas come true, then this will be the best DS homebrew application ever made. Can't tell you much more till I hear from Mollusk.

Anyhow, I'm still working on a demo version of my homebrew browser. Stay tuned!

Proof of concept

I think I'll release a "proof of concept" demo, to show people what they can expect of this type of browser. I'll try to release a downloadable version today! Stay tuned!

PS: you probably won't hear from me on April 1st. Because everything I'd say would be considered as an April fool...

*Edit* sorry no download for today, and probably not for tomorrow since it's April 1st! I'll do my best to get something done by April 2nd.

My homebrew browser

Well I've posted a video of my homebrew web browser.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KrGp8jUsqjk

- It requires a PC application. It's definitely required, because the HTML parsing isn't done on the DS, but on the PC. There are already powerful HTML rendering engines (Internet Explorer, Gecko...) so I just thought I'd reuse them.

- You can definitely connect from anywhere in the world as long as you have an internet connection. It's simple: the PC application acts like a server, so wherever you are in the world you can connect to the application, as long as it's running on your PC. You only need to know your own IP address (for what it's worth, I recommend DynDns.org).

- It's not a goddamn fake. I'm an administrator at GBAtemp.net, former admin at Playeradvance.org, and I hate fakes. I will post the source & compiled version regularly. You can also visit me on IRC (on EFNET) my nick is Costello.

Allright, I hope this will clear things up a bit. Now it's only the beginning! I've got larger projects, I've been discussing with Mollusk and we're going to try to start a bigger project - anyhow, stay tuned!
